Theis Precision Steel Quality Policy
Working safely together to provide our customers top quality steel, on-time and at the
lowest cost possible.
THENOX®:
Stainless steel precision strip engineered to your specifications
Theis Precision Steel is dedicated to the design and production of high quality
engineered steel. The concept behind engineered steel is to design and deliver a base
material which improves the function of your end product. By including characteristics of
the finished part such as heat treating or surface finishing in the base material, it may
be possible to reduce the number of manufacturing processes required to create a part. By
participating as a manufacturing partner in the design and production planning stage and
using our experience to match the characteristics of our steel exactly to your
application, we can help you deliver the highest quality products faster and at a lower
cost.
This Web site introduces the wide range of Theis standard and custom engineered steels,
and offers guidelines for identifying and specifying the material tailored to your
requirements. Thenox® is manufactured using the most advanced technology and state of the
art equipment. Our cold rolling mills are designed to produce the most precise thickness
tolerances and consistent physical properties. Our vertical continuous annealing line is
the most modern facility available, and produces the brightest, cleanest, and most
consistent annealed product on the market.
The finished product can be tension leveled, slit and edged on the most modern
equipment available.
Within the steel industry, THENOX® represents a combination of the traditional cold
rolling technology and the best features of stainless steel. Thicknesses range from .002
to .060 in. (.05 to 1.52 mm.), and widths range from .250 to 15 in. (6.35 to 381 mm.)
When the primary element, chromium, reacts with oxygen in the air, a thin transparent
protective layer of chromium oxide forms on the surface of austenitic, ferritic and
martensitic steels. This gives the steel a permanent metallic appearance, even in
chemically aggressive environments. Other elements such as nickel, molybdenum and titanium
may be added to the steel to form alloys which enhance its corrosion resistance. Elements
can also be added to achieve greater deep drawing, bending or stamping quality, or to
increase spring properties.
Because THENOX® precision strip selectively combines specific materials to achieve the
optimum properties for further processing, it can be readily adapted to meet your special
processing demands. All material flow in our cold rolling mill is monitored by
state-of-the-art computer controlled equipment. Our planning and control systems are
constantly monitored, and our quality management processes are in full compliance with ISO
9002. Our strip maintains the strictest dimensional tolerances, exhibits the widest
variety of surface finishes, and maintains consistent structural properties.
THENOX® Precision strip outperforms its competition, and at Theis Precision Steel we
pride ourselves on having the knowledge to match your technical requirements, the
facilities to produce the highest quality, and the fast service to meet your deadlines. By
participating as a manufacturing partner in the design and production planning stage and
using our experience to match the characteristics of our steel exactly to your
application, we can help you deliver your quality products faster and at a lower cost.
